Lorna AdamsWelcome

Lorna Adams is a professionally trained counselor who has maintained a private practice in Highlands Ranch, Colorado for several years now. She primarily works with adults, and has a particular passion for helping those who were sexually abused in childhood. She continues to help those who have experienced grief/loss, depression, pregnancy, and post-pregnancy issues, life transitions, and those with the desire to improve self-esteem.

Lorna received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Regis University in Denver Colorado, in May 1989.  After working in a variety of clinical settings as a professional nurse for 15 years, she received her Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, Lynchburg Virginia, in January 2005. 

After 4½ years of private practice under supervision, completing Colorado requirements, she received her license (L.P.C.) in June 2009. She then completed requirements to become nationally certified through National Board for Certified Counselors, earning her National Certified Counselor (N.C.C.) designation on September 30, 2009.

Lorna continues to further her career by attending various workshops and seminars pertaining to her particular practice specialties.

Keeping Current

An average of 20 CEUs (Continuing Education Units/Hours) per year that are related to counseling issues are legally required for Lorna to adhere to rules and guidelines set forth by the licensing board DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies) as well as the Ethical Guidelines of all agencies she participates in such as the ACA and AACC.
